Should I get tested even if I do not have any symptoms?

Yes!

If you have been sexually active since your last test, the last time you were tested was within 3 weeks of your last sexual encounter, or you have "gaps" in your testing history (most people have never been tested for herpes) you should probably get tested. Many STDs may not show symptoms or may disguise themselves as other illness/disease symptoms.

The only way to be sure is to get tested. Half of the people who have an STD do not know that they have one.
